As a part of the measures to strengthen public safety during the Lunar New Year, the government will be conducting a 25-day-long Spring Safety Operation beginning at 10 PM on February 5.
Mayor Hau Lung-bin accompanied Minister of the Interior Jiang Yi-huah and National Police Administration Director-general Wang Cho-chiun during the briefing session at the Taipei City Police Department and subsequent visits to the Zhongshan District Police Station, Jianguo Police Station, and the neighborhood watch headquarters in Zhongshan District.
The officials presented the on-duty officers with fruits and incentive rewards, thanking them for sacrificing their vacations to support the campaign.
Referring to a recent robbery at the parking lot of Taipei 101, he requested that police officers thoroughly enforce the safety measures to ensure the safety of the public and discourage crime.
He also reminded the public to take advantage of a number of service offered by the police department, such as checkpoint placement for homes where the residents are away and police escort for individuals withdrawing a large sum from the bank.
TCPD is mobilizing all its forces to alleviate traffic congestion and maintain security during this period. The officers and staff will also collaborate with the intelligence services, community volunteers, volunteer police, and neighborhood watches to implement security and safety measures.
