E-Wallet Application Heralds New Era for EasyCard

Accompanied by EasyCard Corporation Chairman Sean Lien and City Spokesperson Chou Hsin-ping, Mayor Hau Lung-bin arrived at New York New York Shopping Center in Xinyi District to inspect EasyCard transactions.
The e-Wallet function of the EasyCard has been inaugurated on April 1.
At one of the stores, the mayor tried out the new payment method by purchasing donuts and a cup of coffee with an EasyCard-embedded mobile phone.
Hau remarked that with the new e-Wallet option, the EasyCard will change the habit of local consumers, freeing them from the trouble of carrying around a pocket full of coins. EasyCard holders can now utilize their cards – as well as mobile phones, credit cards, or watches with the EasyCard chip – to pay for purchases under NT$1,000 at selected stores in Taipei.
He also took the opportunity to remind the public that a number of stores and restaurants are offering special discounts/deals to customers paying with EasyCards during the month of April.
On the issue of card security, Chairman Lien encourages cardholders to register their EasyCard as a precaution against theft and misplacement. Registered owners can report lost cards by calling EasyCard Corporation’s customer service hotline.
