During a meeting with the representatives from local industry and business on October 27, Mayor Hau Lung-bin stressed that every concern they have is important business for Taipei City Government. The City will do its best to help business owners, creating a friendly environment for growth and development.
Regarding the details of related programs, Hau pointed out that the city has drafted new regulations governing the development of Taipei business and industry, which is currently undergoing review by the city legislature. According to Department of Economic Development (DED) Commissioner Chen Hsiung-wen, a photography competition will be considered as one of the possible expo-related events. Furthermore, the municipal government will not dismantle the buildings after the expo, but will keep them as permanent edifices instead.
In response to several hotel businesses offering to play a part in promoting the expo, Hau said the city government welcomes organizations and individuals to work with the city. He suggested the possibility of collaborating with the tourism and hotel industries to create tour packages centered on the flora expo.
In addition to discussing economic issues and concerns with the delegates, the mayor also presented the award certificates to outstanding businesses at the event.
