On November 10, 2023, Taipei City Government (TCG) signed a new treasury agent bank contract to improve the functions of the centralized disbursement system and increase the speed and security of disbursement. Also, in order to expand public services, starting from December 1, 2023, at the Counter of the Disbursement Division, the Department of Finance (DOF), the northwest district on the 1st floor of the Municipal Building, the calendar distribution activity will be expanded for the first time in conjunction with the Taipei City Secured Small Loans Service (TCSSLS), and the public will be able to obtain them free of charge.

Commissioner Hu, Hsiao-Lan of the DOF, said that in 2022, the number of centralized disbursements in the Taipei City was the highest among 6 Special Municipalities, reaching more than 1.38 million. Mainly in order to improve the timeliness of centralized disbursements, the TCG actively promoted the use of safe, fast, and convenient electronic deposit (remittance) operations to avoid the risks of issuing checks, alteration, theft, and loss. As of the end of October 2023, the remittance ratio of the disbursement was as high as 99.87%, laying a good foundation for the financial development of the capital city of Taipei.

Commissioner Hu further emphasized that after the optimization of the system, the information security control mechanism of the centralized disbursement system will be strengthened, and the security and confidentiality of payment will be increased so that the 393 institutions and schools of the TCG can provide faster and safer disbursement services. In addition, if the payee's name has rare characters, the disbursement can be made without splitting the characters after optimization, saving operations such as inquiry and reproduction of vouchers, and each case can save about 30 minutes. 

Finally, the DOF said that to implement an efficient, sensitive, and service-oriented government, in addition to speeding up disbursement and ensuring disbursement security, from December 1, 2023, the public can directly request the calendar from the Disbursement Division of the DOF on the 1st floor of the Municipal Building (1 copy per person, offer while supplies last), and at the same time, it can be obtained at the 7 sub-offices of the TCSSLS, and the public is welcome to request it.
