Taipei City Government yesterday launched “YES, WE CAN” initiative, an unemployment rescue plan. The plan will broaden the training classes of Taipei Vocational Training Center (TVTC) from 200 classes to 333 classes, and benefit estimated 10,000 unemployed. Department of Labor pointed out that the government will fully subsidize the training expanses for companies, cost-of-living allowance during vocational training for the unemployed. If trainee has labor insurance, he will also receives unemployment insurance benefits.
“The vocational reconstruction classes offer trainings including beauty treatment and hair styling, network technology, OA computer & IT facility services, traditional arts and crafts, car beauty, and heavy machinery repair and services,” said Ching-Lien Hsu, the Director of TVTC, “Funeral Director and foot massage are newly included classes this year.” “To operate in coordination with government’s policies, we adopt new short-term training approach, namely, enroll monthly and train monthly.”
