Mayor Inspects the Preparedness of Tianmu Stadium Ahead of Dodgers’ Visit
Mayor Hau Lung-bin arrived at the Tianmu Baseball Stadium on March 4 to inspect preparation works for the upcoming Major League Baseball (MLB) matches and practice pitching for the opening game.
The MLB team Los Angeles Dodgers will be playing two exhibition games at the Tianmu Baseball Stadium on March 13 and 14, respectively.
The mayor stressed that condition of the facility must be up to par with other MLB venues. He also announced that the six city-sponsored teenager baseball teams have been invited to the game, hoping that the world class event will expand the international perspective of the young players.
The Tianmu Baseball Stadium underwent renovation works in 2009, in an effort to rekindle the public’s passion for the sports of baseball. Areas such as roof surface, lighting system, and water sprinklers received partial or complete overhaul.
In preparations for the MLB-standard game, further adjustments have been made to a number of stadium facilities. The Dodgers also dispatched staff members to the Tianmu Stadium to conduct maintenance works.
Hau reiterated the City’s determination to bring baseball fans back to the stadium by offering them a world class baseball game taking place in a comfortable and quality environment.
