[2010 Shanghai World Expo] Beef Noodles Promotion at Taipei Pavilion
The Taipei Pavilion at Shanghai World Expo celebrated its first month of opening by holding a beef noodles cooking and tasting event at the plaza in front of the building on June 1.
At the showcase, the head of Lao Dong Restaurant Liu Cheng-hsiung personally demonstrated the process of preparing beef noodles; he also introduced other best-selling products, including spring onion cakes and sausages. He also offered 500 bowls of free beef noodles for spectators to try out. The free servings were gone within 15 minutes.
Liu’s restaurant won first place in the “Traditional Beef Noodle” category during the 2006 Taipei Beef Noodle Festival.
Taipei Pavilion Curator Chen Ching-an pointed out that beef noodle is a favorite of both Taipei’s residents and international visitors. Many tourists at the Taipei Pavilion demonstrated great interest in this delicious entrée.
