Taipei City’s Riverside Blooms in Celebration of Spring Happy Chinese New Year of the Horse
This year, Lunar New Year falls right on Valentine’s Day! As spring awakens and flowers peak, nothing is more chill than admiring flowers! The HEO recommends two prime spots: Guting Riverside Park, with its stunning display of 250,000 flowers, and Dagou Creek, where you can combine flower viewing with a scenic hike. According to the HEO, the Guting Riverside floral display kicks off in February. The area is decorated with 250,000 flowers in shades of pink and purple. Varieties like Snapdragon, Mealycup Sage, Spider Flower, Lavender, and Musk Shrub wind through the park like colorful ribbons, and the display will run through mid-March. Everyone is invited to bring their cameras and strike their best poses for a spring outing at Guting. Follow the dancing butterflies through fields of blossoms and make use of the rest tents set up throughout the park. Wander among the flowers for picture-perfect moments, and when it’s time to pause, relax under the warm winter sun and clear blue skies—welcoming 2026 with positive vibes. Making its debut in January 2026 the Dagou Creek flower sea is equally captivating! A total of 26,000 plants—including Scarlet Sage, Mealycup Sage, and marigolds—are now in full bloom across an area of approximately 743 square meters. This year’s theme, “Water Abyss,” presents flowing patterns that resemble rippling water cascading over green slopes. Visitors to the Dagouxi Ecology and Water-Control Park can follow charming animal installations through the wave-like floral displays, creating a vibrant visual feast. Engage all five senses as you listen to the gentle murmur of the stream and the constant, lively chorus of birdsong. Located a 10-15 walk from MRT Gongguan Station and the Gongguan Shopping District, Guting Riverside Park’s flower sea sits next to the basketball courts. After viewing the blooms, take time to explore the Gongguan area or Treasure Hill Artist Village for local treats and a relaxed, nostalgic vibe. Located within the Dagouxi Ecology and Water-Control Park, the flower sea is easy to reach. Visitors can get there with a 15 minute walk from the Wenhu Line's MRT Dahu Park Station. In addition to Dahu Park, there are several hiking trails nearby, making it ideal for planning half-day travel itineraries. Come celebrate the spring holidays with us! The HEO welcomes couples, families, and friends to experience the flowers and unwind together. It’s the perfect way to recharge and kick off a prosperous, peaceful year where everything goes your way!
