Let the World Hear Taipei! TBS Launches New International Partnerships with CITYPlus FM (Malaysia) and Chinese Radio Network (New York)
In line with its mission to “Share Taipei” and “Promote Taipei,” Taipei Broadcasting Station (TBS) officially launched an international content exchange program in 2025. Starting now, audiences in Malaysia can tune in to “CITYPlus FM,” and listeners in the United States can hear Taipei Broadcasting Station programs on the “Chinese Radio Network” in New York. Through radio, Mandarin-speaking audiences around the world can experience the vibrant culture and charm of Taipei. CITYPlus FM is Malaysia’s first Mandarin-language financial news radio station, known for its signature blend of unique music, in-depth interviews, and expert commentary. The station is also active in fostering international collaborations. Meanwhile, the Chinese Radio Network in New York serves Mandarin-speaking communities across the U.S. East Coast, offering timely news, cultural entertainment, and lifestyle programming. The station has long focused on issues relevant to the Chinese community and is dedicated to promoting Chinese heritage and cultural continuity. TBS Director Shao-Chien Hu emphasized the station’s role in showcasing Taipei’s culture and identity to the world. Through this collaboration, he hopes to expand the station’s international reach and allow Mandarin-speaking audiences worldwide to experience the cultural richness of Taipei through high-quality content. On TBS, listeners can now enjoy CITYPlus FM’s programs such as Independent Music Bar (https://tradio.gov.taipei/channel/MjE2MA/MjI4Njc1) and Enjoy Jazz Time (https://tradio.gov.taipei/channel/MjE1MQ/MjI4NjE1), which bring Southeast Asian music and the beauty of jazz to local airwaves. Listeners in Malaysia and New York can also tune in to a variety of programs from TBS, including Eating in Taipei, which explores the city’s culinary delights; Thousand Miles - Talks About Music, a show that shares stories and culture through music; His Books, offering deep dives into literature and history; the beloved music program Dream Garden; Chao Chuan’s Theme Song, which features classic Western hits; and Impressions of Taipei, which captures the city’s spirit and everyday charm. Looking ahead, TBS will continue to expand its global reach and actively seek new international partnerships, bringing more high-quality content to audiences worldwide and letting the world hear the voice of Taipei. Listeners can tune in to FM 93.1 and AM 1134, or access the “T Radio” online radio station (https://tradio.gov.taipei/) to enjoy a variety of programs by TBS.
