TRTC to Offer Additional Time Slots for Bicycle Carry-ons
The Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation (TRTC) will be opening up the peak hours on weekends and holidays to cyclists who wish to bring their bicycles onboard the MRT. The new policy will be implemented starting Saturday, April 24.
Under the new policy, the following time slots will be available to cyclists: 4 PM – 7 PM on weekends and holidays. This effectively allows cyclists to ride the MRT with their bikes between 6 AM and closing time on weekends and holidays.
Currently, 27 MRT stations permit cyclists to enter/exit/transfer with their bicycles. TRTC reminds cyclists to check which MRT stations offer bicycle loading and unloading beforehand.
Folding bikes can be carried onboard without restrictions (treated as a carry-on baggage) if folded and packed away.
For details on the new policy, please contact TRTC at the 24-hour customer hotline at (02-218-12345) or the city government at the 1999 Citizen Hotline (dial 02-2720-8889 if calling from outside Taipei City). Information is also available online at the company’s website (http://www.trtc.com.tw).
