Accompanied by Taipei County Magistrate Chou Hsi-wei, Taipei City Mayor Hau Lung-bin arrived at the Chiao-Fu Bowling Alley located in the Zhonghe City on August 31 to inspect the preparations at the venue for the upcoming 2009 Summer Deaflympics.

During his visit, Hau remarked that the International Committee of Sports For the Deaf has lauded this bowling alley for its sufficient facilities; Hau also expressed his gratitude to Magistrate Chou for offering such a well-equipped venue for the Games.

In addition to the bowling tournament, venues sitting in the Taipei County will house the Deaflympics’ competitions with a variety of categories ranging from beach volleyball, female volleyball, marathon to bicycle.

After the inspection tour, the mayor along with Magistrate Chou presented bonuses and souvenirs to the participating athletes and couches, encouraging them to do their best at the international sports event.
