The City’s Traffic Engineering Office (TEO) released a guide on cycling life in Taipei. The pamphlet includes maps detailing Taipei’s network of bicycle routes and knowledge useful for cyclists.
According to TEO, the number of residents using bicycles for their commute is on a steady rise. The major objective TEO seeks to achieve with the publication is to help the public learn more about the city’s cycling-related facilities.
In addition to the maps, readers will also find information on the U-bike rental system, facilities available at the bicycle maintenance stations, guidelines on cycling safety, locations of parking facilities for bikes, and planning tips for cyclists traveling from downtown areas to the riverside.
The publication, which is currently available only in Chinese, can be acquired free of charge at the dealerships/stores of GIANT, MERIDA, and KHS; cyclists can also pick up copies at the 12 district offices, TEO, and any of the bicycle rental stations along the riverside bike routes.
