Taipei City Police Department (TCPD) Datong, Zhongshan, and Beitou police districts will be holding a fair to raise public awareness on crime prevention at the plaza next to the SOGO Department Store in Tianmu on August 14 and 15.
Between 3 PM and 6 PM, visitors will be able to participate in a number of activities, including games, shows, and hands-on scenarios. There are a total of 31 stalls and booths at the fairground, offering entertainments ranging from bicycle serial number registration service to air gun ranges. Of course, kids would not want to miss out on the free popcorns and ice creams!
Various groups will also stage performances at the fair, including students from Chinese Culture University, local community colleges, and members of Thunder Squad (the special service unit of the police force).
According to TCPD, the agency organizes Crime Prevention Day activities every year on the second Saturday in August. Hopefully, through these efforts, the public will be more aware of potential dangers and take steps to implement preventing measures, helping to reduce the number of crimes and frauds in Taipei.
