Taipei City Offers Up to NT$6,500 in Subsidies for Motorcycle Training
The Taipei City Department of Transportation (TPDOT) offers subsidies for motorcycle training to improve road safety and promote defensive riding. Residents who complete a motorcycle training course by December 15, 2026 (or while spots last) can receive up to NT$6,500, covering both licensing and practical road training. Three subsidy programs are available: TPDOT also offers “Safe Driving Training for Seniors” for residents 65 and older with a car license. Courses cover on-site practice, traffic regulations, and road driving. Participants can attend for free, and some schools offer an extra NT$1,000 subsidy.
